Christmas and the dawn of the New Year are celebrated all over the world, with Sri Lanka being no exception. Fun and frolic in Sri Lanka can be said to be skewed to the Christians and Catholics, obviously, and to the social conscious elite and the urban middle class, irrespective of the religion.

Thus, all these lead to what we generally term as the “festive mood”. Teenagers make use of the “mood” to go partying, some from one night party to another, without a break.
